ResTech presents again at 2010 NSW Electrical Engineering Safety Seminar

Tim Wylie presenting at EESS 2010
29/11/2010

Tim Wylie, Research and Development Manager for ResTech discussed aspects of Future Challenges for Electricty in Mining at the annual Electrical Engineering Safety Seminar (EESS) in Sydney.

The theme for the Electrical Engineering Safety Seminar (EESS) this year was 'Prevention is Better than Cure' and the Seminar attracted over 300 electrical engineers from across New South Wales.

Seminar topics ranged from arc fault prevention to advances in electrical technology for mining.

Mine electrical engineers are constantly evolving their systems to satisfy increasing performance demands.

Tim noted, 'There is a perception that standards, legislation and supply utility requirements are not conducive to, and sometimes conflict with, increased performance and production'.

Tim's presentation explored some initiatives and technologies toward legislative compliance that are complementary to increased capacity, performance and power delivery by ensuring power quality.
